Turia portrait in art prize finals
A portrait of bushfire survivor Turia Pitt is a finalist in the prestigious Black Swan portraiture prize.
A bushfire trapped her and other competitors in the 2011 Racing the Planet marathon at El Questro.
Ms Pitt, who was then an engineer at Argyle, had burns to much of her face and body.
She has continued to compete in various events as part of her rehabilitation.

Turia Pitt burns case: Race organisers deny liability
Racing the Planet’s organisers deny liability for horrific burns suffered by Turia Pitt and three other marathon runners.
Organiser Mary Gadams issued a statement denying liability for Ms Pitt’s injuries, sustained while competing in the 2011 El Questro event.
It also disputing the amount of the reported “out of court” settlement.
“RacingThePlanet believes it is clear that the fire that burnt Ms Pitt was deliberately lit and is very concerned that this has not been properly investigated,” the statement reads.

Turia gets $10million payout
The West Australian says Racing the Planet organisers will pay competitor Turia Pitt a $10million compensation.
Ms Pitt was one of the marathon runners badly burned when trapped in a bushfire at El Questro in 2011.
