Regular Singapore-Broome-Wyndham shipping service

An Australian company has started a regular shipping service between Singapore, Wyndham  and Broome.

The Kimberline is carrying agricultural machinery and mining consumables, but the owners hope to attract cargoes of agricultural exports, such as boxed beef.

Overhead lines have had to be lifted whenever large boats enter or leave the port by road.

A university tourism expert says large cruise ships are not stopping in Broome because the jetty is too small.

He says Broome may miss out on the cruise ship market altogether if the port does not upgrade to meet their needs.
