Football: Manson ‘overlooked, confused’

A spokesman from Garnduwa is concerned for Waylen Manson’s welfare, after the AFL draft.

Brett Claudius said the 18-year-old from Billiluna had not been given a proper preparation for the draft, and had not been sufficiently coached as to what to expect and what the requirements were.

Football: AFL draft overlooks Manson

No AFL club picked Billiluna’s Waylen Manson in this year’s draft, held earlier this week.

Manson played for Billiluna last year, followed by a couple of games for Claremont Colts this year and several recent matches for Waratah Warriors in the NTFL.

He had a number of visits from AFL scouts following his impressive tallys of goals for the ‘tahs.

Geelong snapped up Broome’s Joel Hamling as pick 32 in the AFL draft.

Hamling moved from Broome to play for Claremont Colts last year.

He is due to arrive at Geelong on Monday.

Cowboys 2012 Indigenous jersey

Cowboys 2012 Indigenous jersey

Former Kimberley artist Susan Peters has designed a jersey for NRL team the North Queensland Cowboys.

The Cowboys will wear the jersey while playing the  ”close the gap”  Round 22 against Manly.

She now lives in Townsville where the team is based.
