Goolarabooloo family invitation to seven-day walk

Goolarabooloo law man Joe Roe and family are inviting you to a seven-day walk through country.

The walk up the western Dampier Peninsula, including James Price Point, will start at Broome this coming Saturday.

Middle Lagoon: Kimberley Ranger training

Kimberley Land Council organised training for Aboriginal rangers at Middle Lagoon last week.

Some 200 people from various Aboriginal communities spent two days learning skills needed to take care of the natural environment in their own tribal country.

Dampier Peninsula: Shire supports access restrictions

Broome Shire has come out in support of Kimberley Land Council demands to restrict Dampier Peninsula visitor access.

Shire President Graeme Campbell said most of the land is either owned privately or by the Aboriginal Lands Trust.

Djarinjin: Teenager jailed for burglary, sexual assault

Perth Children’s Court sentenced a teenager to 18 months jail for aggravated burglary and aggravated indecent assault.

Earlier this year he broke into a house at the Dampier Peninsula community of Djarinjin, threatened a woman with a knife and sexually assaulted her.
