Government to build 500 Aboriginal homes

WA’s¬†government says it intends to build 500 new homes for Aboriginal families “living predominantly in the Kimberley”.

These are to  be built by 2018.

People in the building trade are invited to attend Broome or Kununurra workshops this week.

Road funding in doubt

The West Australian says upgrades to northern highways could be scrapped under the new Abbott government.

Last month’s state budget included more than $500million for Great Northern Highway and North West Coastal Highway.

However four fifths of this was expected to come from the Commonwealth.
