Broome Shire intends to introduce new regulations for camel operators on Cable Beach.

This includes a “three strikes and you are out” policy whereby licenses would be revoked if regulations are breached.

Convicted camel man Chrisopher Howard Hill (37) copped a $25,000 fine but avoided jail today.

Judge Stephen Scott gave him three months to pay the fine for burglary and stealing offences committed during his time as a Cable Beach camel rides operator.

Broome District Court heard testimony from a camel ride operator’s ex-girlfriend yesterday.

She said she was present when the camel operator committed several acts of theft and sabotage against a rival.
