Two Ord River growers have ripped out grapefruit trees and returned to planting bananas.

Most farmers stopped growing bananas about 10 years ago.

Ord Valley: Potato man goes for bananas

The man who bought the Rewards mango shed and farm is getting into bananas.

Tony Galati, who is also WA’s biggest potato producer, says he has leased three properties which he is planting with bananas.

He told The West Australian he intends to expand the business until he supplies about a quarter of the WA market.
