Wyndham: Man arrested for flouting home grog law
Wyndham police have arrested a man for drinking in a home declared legally grog-free.
It is the first time anyone has been charged for breaking the new law, allowing private homes to be declared dry.
Police say neighbours called them because the man was drinking at the front of the house while the occupant was asleep.
It is one of three Wyndham houses now declared alcohol-free.

Fitzroy Crossing’s Liliwan Project has given evidence to a parliamentary enquiry into foetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
Liliwan project leader Professor Elizabeth Elliot said FASD is more common in Aboriginal and remote areas, and advocates higher alcohol taxes.
She also wants women abusing alcohol to use contraceptives.

Wyndham: Grog-free homes from Monday
Three old people in Wyndham have had their home(s) declared officially “grog free”.
This is the first use in the town of new powers under the Liquor Control Act which enables people to request the private homes be officially “dry”.
