We just heard from Kathleen Cox, who caught two big barramuni at her secret spot near Goombaragin on the Dampier Peninsula.
“Perserverance pays off,” she said.
“It was a long day, like five hours fishing, and only I got them on the out-going tide straight after each other.”
She took her six-year-old along.
“It was a good time to teach him about fishing, the different kinds of bait, the differences between fish from reef to creek and how important it is to talk to the old people when you’re out on country brings good feelings of being present and memories,” she said.
