Melissa Price on development advisory group
Local MHR Melissa Price is an enthusiastic supporter of the new Northern Australia Advisory Group.
Kimberley members include Wayne Bergmann, Jack Burton, David Menzel and Nicholas Paspaley.
“All members of the advisory group have a deep understanding of, and commitment to the development of Northern Australia, and I look forward to reviewing their expert recommendations as a member of the Joint Select Committee on Northern Australia,” Ms Price said.

Robin Chapple on uranium and Barnett
Robin Chapple MLC says Colin Barnett is “hell bent on destroying the West Kimberley”.
His comments come after a uranium exploration company received a subsidy to explore the Canning Basin.
“This is a cynical payback … for the Kimberley for having rejected his James Price Point pipe dream” Mr Chapple said.
Robin Chapple on contaminated water spills
Robin Chapple MLC is concerned at the government response to alleged contaminated water spills at Roebuck Plains.
He said the mines department will not give him any information about contaminated water leaks from lined dams at several of Buru Energy Limited’s Yulleroo wells.
“I’m absolutely astounded by the lack of transparency here,” he said.
“To the best of my knowledge, it’s the first time in history that environmental regulations have been commercial-in-confidence.

Mark McGowan on Royalties for Regions
Mark McGowan says the government has not spent the promised 25 percent of mining royalties on regional WA.
The opposition leader says only about three quarters the promised Royalties for Regions money has in fact been spent on the regions.
“Over the next four years, the percentage of mining royalties being spent in regional WA will drop further to only 12.5 per cent,” Mr McGowan said.

Melissa Price on apprentices loans
Apprentices will be eligible for $20,000 loans over four years in an item included in the Federal Budget.
Local member Melissa Price said this would build a stronger economy by supporting apprentices to complete their qualification.

Melissa Price on the Child Support Program
Local member Melissa Price says there will be a parliamentary inquiry into the Commonwealth Child Support Program.
“I would encourage all Durack residents who have a personal experience of the Child Support Program to go online and tell the Committee their story,” she said.
“This kind of information will be crucial to the Committee’s understanding of how the program operates in reality.”
