A company called Newera Resources has been granted exploration leases at Cummins Range, 160km southwest of Halls Creek.
Newera intends to explore for Rare Earth Elements in land adjoining the leases held by Kimberley Rare Earths.

Constable Marron ‘takes first steps’

Constable Ryan Marron has started his therapy at a facility in Chicago, USA.
He has been “trapped inside his body” after a mosquito bite while on duty at Balgo this time last year.
Constable Ryan’s supporters have posted videos of him working to regain the use of his hands and legs, using specialised equipment, on his facebook page.

Royalty money for ‘edible gardens’

Wendy Duncan MLC yesterday announced a $1.6million grant to a program aimed at providing fresh food to Aboriginal communities.
The EON Foundation’s “Edible Gardens” program, which has run for five years at Djarindjin/Lombadina, will be rolled out to Kalumburu, Warmun, Halls Creek, Wankatjungka, Ngalapita and Wanalirri.
