Talbot Bay: Croc attacks cruise ship crew

A True North crew member was attacked by a crocodile while swimming.
She was pulled away from the crocodile by passengers from the cruise ship, and airlifted to Derby Hospital to have her leg wounds treated.
The West Australian names her as Tara Hawkes, 23.

The ABC says the state government has agreed to fund a new Aboriginal hostel in Derby.
It says the money originally allocated to Broome has now been pledged to Derby, and the council has already agreed to lease the land.

Derby: ‘Stranded’ anglers may be charged
Two men fishing on Sunday night let off flares when tides stranded their dinghy on a sandbar.
They eventually freed themselves and returned home without notifying authorities, although police and volunteers were out looking for them.
Police say they may be charged.
Derby: Man acquitted of raping sleeping drunk
A Derby man has been found not guilty of raping a woman who was passed out and drunk.
The trial lasted three days.

Sales at Ellendale Diamond Mine increased overall by 15 percent last year, according to an industry magazine.
Rapaport says the company that owns the mine is “considering its options”, which KimberleyPage understands to mean it is interesting in selling the mine at the right price.
