Broome: Man jailed for manslaughter
A man copped a nine-year jail sentence for the manslaughter of a woman with whom he had just had sex.
Goldfields man Elton John Ward, 40, was acquitted of murdering the 32-year-old Kalumburu woman three years ago.

Broome: Upgrade for recycling plant
Broome’s recycling plant has had a $1million upgrade.
The ABC says the plant will be able to process 2.5tonnes of waste per hour, instead of only one.
Broome: Companies fined $140,000 over transport workers’ deaths
The deaths of two transport workers in 2008 resulted in fines totalling $140,000.
Barker Hughes copped an $80,000 fine and Oilfields Transport Services $60,000 as they failed supply a safe working environment for the two men.
