Rohanna Angus sent in this picture of a flooded creek crossing, taken on the weekend.

She says her family’s vehicles have been stranded.

“It’s at Mudnunn Road near Djarindjin airstrip,” she said.

“We have to walk to Djarindjin to get fuel and food – it’s about a 15 kilometre walk just to live in our block.”

Canberra: Media got Aboriginal protest ‘wrong’

Kununurra’s Selena Davey-Newry, who was at 26 January protests in Canberra, says the media “got it wrong”.

She denied reports of a violent protest, saying they approached a Prime-Ministerial function with clapping sticks and didgeridoos, and were met by Federal Police in riot gear.

Wyndham: $1.6million to house Oombulgurri people

The buildings are part of what the government describes as a temporary accommodation camp to house the people, who have been camping on the marsh since their community was officially closed down.
