A Hong Kong-listed company now owns more than 10% of Tanami Gold.
Sung Hung Kai bought more shares this month in the Australian company with gold projects on either side of the WA-NT border.

Warmun: Future uncertain for Catholic religious centre
A church organisation’s director says Warmun’s will not survive unless more lay workers volunteer to run it.
Martin Tuelan, who directes an umbrella group for Catholic missions in Australia, said Mirrilingki Spirituality Centre is currently run by five ageing Josephite nuns and three lay volunteers.

Browse Basin: Oil company says ‘no way’ would it use James Price Point
French oil giant Total says there is “no way” it would use the proposed Kimberley gas hub.
The company, which owns about a quarter of the Ichthys project at Browse Basin, confirmed it is on track to pipe the gas 900km for processing in Darwin.

Halls Creek: Drug dealing conviction for DCP woman
A 60yo Halls Creek woman who works at the childrens’ hostel has been fined $1000 for dealing drugs.
Police say they stopped Ethel Woodhouse just outside Broome and found 56 grams of cannabis in her car about three months ago.

Broome shire council is considering a development application from Woodside at tonight’s regular council meeting.

Yakka Munga: Helicopter deaths ‘Russian roulette’
The Deputy Coroner said a helicopter pilot played “Russian roulette” with safety before a fatal crash.
In findings handed down today Evelyn Vicker said the 2003 crash that killed Johnny James was caused by a cracked clutch shaft (painted over) and she also noted gear stored improperly under the seats, hindering their shock-absorbing function.

Fitzoy River: Noxious weed infestation
A government agency has been removing a noxious weed from the Fitzroy River for the last three weeks.
The Department of Environment and Conservation has concentrated on infestations of rubber vine at Geike Gorge and Willare.

Originally from Darwin, his mother comes from Kununurra.
George tells us he has worked at a variety of Northern Territory institutions including Batchelor College and CAAMA Radio Alice Springs.
