Broome: Gas hub ‘will damage tourism’ says study
A Curtin University study says the proposed Kimberley gas hub would have a negative impact on Broome’s tourism.
The researchers say the damage to the town’s tourism income would be worse than the economic benefits a gas hub would bring.

KLC, Kimberley Metals agreement on East Kimberley iron mine
The Kimberley Land Council says it is negotiating a deal with Kimberley Metals Group over a new mine.
The KLC says the new mine will create up to 24 jobs for local Aboriginal workers.

Police expect to charge a man with allegedly stabbing another man on Friday night.
Both men are in Broome hospital recovering from injuries.
Broome: Police seek camel tour arsonist
Police are asking for help to find out who burned valuable camel tour equipment on Thursday night.
The deliberately-lit fire destroyed saddles and other gear belonging to Red Sun Camels, but camels were not harmed.

Searchers are still looking for a man who went missing after crashing his speedboat on Saturday night.
His boat has been recovered from Lake Kununurra, which is home to crocodiles.
Broome: Shinju turns 40

Broome’s Shinju Matsuri festival is forty years old this year.
Festivities kicked off with the float parade last Friday, and will continue til Sunday with a range of community and cultural events you can view here.
