New Kimberley theory of Leichhardt’s resting place

Researchers studying the 19th century explorer Ludwig von Leichhardt have a new theory of his final resting place.

The German scientist had planned to cross the continent from Brisbane to the Swan River, and new evidence indicates he may have been in the Sturt Creek area before disappearing somewhere south of Lake Gregory.
