Wilderness Society activist Josh Coates tried to attend oil giant Chevron’s AGM in Houston Texas last week.
Chevron refused him entry to the meeting, along with Jabirr Jabirr traditional owner Neil Mckenzie and protestors from six continents.

The legislation is aimed at protecting caravan parks in towns like Kununurra from developers who are keen to capitalise on high residential land prices.

James Price Point traditional owner Neil Mckenzie and Wilderness Society activist Josh Coates are both in Houston Texas.
They say they were refused access to Chevron’s Annual General Meeting, despite the fact they hold proxy documents from shareholders granting them legal access.

Protestors from North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia are all in this photograph with the proxy documents they say were not honoured.

James Price Point: Woodside blasting ‘near calving whales’

Greens MP Robin Chapple says Woodside is conducting seismic surveys close to a calving whale pod.
He called for environment minister Donna Faragher, who admitted she did not know about the surveys, to resign.

The ABC says up to 7000 attended the annual Ord Valley Muster festival in Kununurra.
Luckily the weather was right for Saturday’s Kimberley Moon concert, where a crowd of 3000 heard John Farnham and other acts.

Derby: Government funds for new visitors centre

Proposed new site for Derby Visitors Centre
The government has contributed almost half the cost of a new Derby visitors’ centre building.
Shire CEO said the grant had been announced too late for council to formally consider it at last week’s meeting.
He said if the building proceeds, it will probably be located on Loch Street on the site of a present driveway entrance to the Civic Centre car park.
