Browse Basin: Woodside says gas hub is a ’slam dunk’
Woodside’s CEO says his company has “slam dunked” the gas hub proposed for James Price Point.
Don Volte borrowed the saying from basketball to express his confidence that the onshore facility will go ahead now, even though it is yet to obtain native title clearance or environmental approvals for the site.

He rejected calls to build a floating liquid natural gas facility, saying Woodside would need “three or four” of these to process its Browse Basin gas reserves.
Wyndham: Council orders seatainers removed
The shire wants a Wyndham man to apply forĀ planning permission, or remove two seatainers from his yard.
The Six-Mile resident, who would have to pay almost $1,000 for the plannng application, said the shire would be better off concentrating on removing car bodies and derelect asbestos houses.

Browse Basin: Use floating gas facility says Wilderness Society
A green group is calling on Woodside to use a floating LNG plant to process Browse Basin gas.
The Wilderness Society prefers this to a land-based facility at James Price Point.
Kalumburu family banished to Derby
Derby police were unhappy to learn of a family of 13 Kalumburu people arriving in town.
The community used a by-law to kick them out for fighting, and flew them to Derby by charter plane.
Health staff drug abuse risk
Staff at government hospitals and clinics can be easily tempted to steal and use drugs, says a report.
A Corruption and Crime Commission document tabled in parliament last week, which included interviews with 35 Kimberley-based staff, also said there were no procedures in place to deal with staff misconduct.

Nearly 60 competitors have now finished the 250km rough terrain race, crossing the finish line at El Questro.

Stations can have hand guns again
Pastoralists will once again be able to apply for hand gun licences under new legislation.
A previous Labor government banned the use of hand guns, which were used for protection agains wild cattle.
