Halls Creek: Volunteer dental clinics

Perth dentist John Owen and his wife Jan have been volunteering their services to needy Kimberley communities.
Their new Kimberley Dental Team is a charitable organisation with unusual origins – choral singing!
“As an off shoot of the very successful ‘tour’ of the reconciliation choir, Madjitil Moorna, which visited Halls Creek in the second week of May (last) year, Jan and I, (developed) a Kimberley Dental Team to continue to assist at Halls Creek,” said John.
Since then the team has conducted clinics at Halls Creek, Warmun, Yiyili and intend to do more, as well as extending their services to Balgo and Ringer Soak.
None of these centres has a reliable dental service.
