Broome: $500,000 Aboriginal job-readiness grant
The Commonwealth has allocated $500,000 to Kimberley Land Council’s Job Readiness Program.
The money is to be used to overcome problems that Aboriginal people experience when fronting for a new job – such as literacy and numeracy.
It is hoped the grant will enable more Aboriginal people to take up job opportunities created by the proposed gas hub at James Price Point.
