This is the musical that features well-known classics performed by generations of singers, such as Summertime, It Ain’t Necessarily So, I Got Plenty o’ Nuttin’ andA Woman is a Sometime Thing.

Local member Barry Haase compares WA Nationals’ leader Brendon Grylls to a “spoilt child”.
Mr Haase, who is also the endorsed Liberal candidate for the new seat of Durack, is commenting on Mr Grylls desire to take the federal Nationals out of a coalition agreement with the Liberals, as he has done in WA.

Broome: Gillard visit coincides with strike
The workplace relations minister is visiting Broome today at the same time as a 24-hour waterfront strike.
Julia Gillard said she hoped the workers had not planned the stoppage to coincide with her visit.
James Price Point: Bergman critical of green groups
Kimberley Land Council director Wayne Bergmann made scathing comments about non-aboriginal critics of the proposed gas hub.
He singled out musicians Missy Higgins, John Butler and Rob Hirst; retired Federal Court judge Murry Wilcox; and environmental groups the Wilderness Society and Save the Kimberley.

Kununurra: Rockmelon growers getting in first
Rockmelon planting is well underway in the Ord Valley, ahead of the rainy Northern Territory and Queensland.
Growers are hoping this year’s local dry conditions will give them a competitive advantage as their fruit comes on the market earlier in the season.

Notre Dame university says its Broome campus is losing money.
The university said it is working on strategies to become financially self-sustaining, and remains committed to Broome til at least 2012.

Kununurra: New fruit fly lure attracts females
Scientists are trialling a new fruit fly lure which attracts females rather than males.

Broome: Wharfies call 24-hour strike
Maritime workers have walked off the job at Broome Port.
They say management refuses to discuss health and safety concerns, such as the lack of toilets.
Fitzroy Crossing: Youth crime inquiry to visit
A parliamentary inquiry will visit Fitzroy Crossing for a public meeting tomorrow (Wednesday 31 March 2010).
Indigenous affairs minister Jenny Macklin set up the inquiry because so many young Aboriginal people are in the criminal justice system.
