People: Sooty Pigram
by Geoff Vivian

Sooty Pigram is packing up his bike and belongings after two days’ racing at Alice Springs.
He said “The Bikes Are Back” meeting was a friendly competition aimed at promoting the sport.
“We got new interest in the sport so it’s good for the local boys.”

He said on this occasion there is no point in risking serious injury that may put a rider out of action for months at a time.
“There was no title or nothing on the line so no need to hurt yourself,” he said.
“For those boys that are heading to England, well, that would be the end of their careers.”
“We had fun, and put on a good show so mission accomplished.”
