Local member to sue police union president
by Geoff Vivian

Carol Martin
Kimberley local member Carol Martin says she will sue police union president Russell Armstrong for allegedly racist remarks.
Her statement follows widely-reported comments by Mr Armstrong that Aborigines “fail to tackle a culture of drunken violence”.
Ms Martin said she will be demanding both a public apology and financial compensation.
She said she wants to use the money for charitable purposes.
“I was thinking of setting up a fighting fund for Indigenous people to deal with racism,” she said.
Ms Martin said she intends to file the complaint with the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission tomorrow.
