Kintore: Stranded family almost perished
A family of six, including a toddler, almost perished after breaking down on a journey between desert communities.
They were travelling from Tjukala to Kintore when their car broke down on Tuesday.
They had been stranded for more than 24 hours, and without water for 12.

Halls Creek: Entry statement competition
Halls Creek shire is looking for an entry statment for the town.
The shire is running a competition with a small prize for the best idea.
There appears to be no specific design brief.

Kununurra: Toad busters can’t use gas
Toad busters have been banned from using carbon dioxide to kill toads – because it is “too cruel”.
This leaved only freezing and “blunt trauma” as options, which Kimberley Toadbusters said will deter family groups from participating.
Danger: Crocodiles breeding
Crocodiles are more aggressive and territorial this time of year, says the Department of Environment and Conservation.
It is the breeding season for salties and freshies.
Temporary funding for Physician, Paediatrician
Health Minister Kim Hames says the government can fund two Kimberley medical specialist positions for the time being.
But it may have to draw on the Royalties for Regions and Closing the Gap funds for future years.

Broome: Jellyfish stings
Entrance Point beach has been closed after several reported jellyfish stings.
Other people have been stung while swimming at Cable Beach and Town Beach.
