Correction to story ‘Broome: Aboriginal corporation pays quarter-million exec salary’

We based our story on these accounts published on a government website

We based our story on these accounts published on a government website

KimberleyPage wishes to correct a report made on Sunday 22 November.
We understood Mr Kevin Fong received the sum of $261,106 from Goolari Media Enterprises as a salary in 2007-2008, based on the accounts published on a government website.
We are now advised that sum of $261,106 was paid to both Mr Fong and Ms Dot West.
Mr Fong’s salary for the year was therefore somewhat less than $261,106 (or $261,106 minus Ms West’s salary).
Any suggestion that Mr Fong was paid more than $261,106 was due to our incorrect interpretation of these accounts.
We regret any distress or inconvenience this may have caused Mr Fong, Goolari Media Enterprises or Broome Aboriginal Media Association.
The story “Broome: Aboriginal corporation pays quarter-million exec salary” has been removed from the web site.
Mr Fong has also been invited to respond to the points made in the story so that his response can be published here on KimberleyPage.
