Argyle: Massive diamond found
A vauable white diamond the size of a ten-cent coin has turned up at the Argyle mine.
Appoint paediatrician and physician says opposition
The state opposition says medical positions left vacant in the Kimberley should be filled without delay.
The health department is conducting a review of its services, including a second physician and third paediatrician’s position not filled for several months.

The Halls Creek woman injured in a car accident last week is no longer in a dangerous condition.
Browse Basin: Karoon to drill three more wells
Karoon Gas and its partner Conoco Phillips will drill three more gas wells in the Browse Basin.
Karoon’s share prices have been falling since its second exploration well, called Kontiki 1, did not show a payable reserve of gas.
However the company said it will continue on with its exploration drilling program, drilling three more wells called Poseidon 2, Lion 1 and Kronos 1.

Oombulgurri: Life after grog bans
Things may be getting better at Oombulgurri says a police sergeant.
He said the government alcohol ban and a new council and chairman may be improving life at the remote tropical community.

Browse Basin: Karoon shares falling
A minor partner in the Browse Basin gas field has seen its share prices slide for six consecutive days.
Karoon Gas failed to find payable gas at its second exploration well, Kontiki, last week.
The company’s shares rose dramatically earlier this year when it announced it had found an excellent source of gas at its first exploration well, called Poseidon.
Karoon’s exploration program is continuing – drilling equipment from Kontiki well will be moved to a new site, called Poseidon II.
